| How did we get started? Bill and I decided to meet in Sackets Harbor, NY while Bill was traveling on business for a weekend getaway. We could not find a hotel anywhere in the area with any vacancy so I decided to try a Bed and Breakfast. Our search led us to the Candlelight B&B. Alice greeted us at the door and showed us to our room. She said breakfast was at 9AM. We stayed two nights and met a couple expecting their first child. We asked when she was expecting and the conversion went on from there. At breakfast the second morning we talked to other guests about how lovely the Candlelight B&B was decorated. We took forty pictures and dreamed of opening a Bed and Breakfast of our own. In February 2004 we did just that. There was zoning to apply for and supplies to gather. I did not understand at the time what was involved. It was a learning experience and still is today. We have met people from all over the world and they come to our home for a visit. Announcement Watch a movie in the privacy of your own bedroom! Bring your own or choose from our video library. New DVD players have been installed in all bedrooms. Our 65"wide screen TV in our recreation room is still available as well. Guests have a choice of a full or continental breakfast. A full breakfast may include a ham and egg breakfast braid, baked French toast, tomato in a egg with hash browns, waffles or sweet potato pancakes. A continental breakfast may include fruit, yogurt, cheerios or hot cereal, muffins or bagels. Coffee, tea, orange juice, milk and hot coco are also served. |
